Free of charge and no signing up

The Friday Night Skate is free of charge and there is no signing up. Everyone with skating-experience can join in.

How much experience do you need?

Being a good skater is the only condition you need to fulfil to join the Friday Night Skate. You don’t exactly need to be born with a pair of roller-skates on, but because of your own security as well as that of others, you need to be experienced to some degree.

You have to be confident and have full control on a pair of skates - and you have to be able to keep up and brake well. The pace will be around 15 km/h.

If it turns out you cannot keep up or you are not skilled enough, you will be asked to quit and practice more before you participate again.

Participation on your own risk

Joining the Friday Night Skate is always at your own risk. Organizers and other volunteers (Blockers and Flying Nurses e.g.) are not responsible for injuries or damages. Optimize your personal security by using protection-gear.

You have to provide your own roller-skates and protection-gear. We recommend; helmet, wrist-, elbow- and knee protection. If you don’t have a helmet, you can borrow one at the starting point, in exchange for an ID card and small deposit.

It is also a good idea to bring something to drink. Reflector strips or head- and rear-lights are recommended for skating after dark.
